Noah's very last day of preschool!

Noah was soooo excited for his last day of preschool today! He's been talking about it for quite some time. In honor of the special day he wore his favorite green t-shirt, plaid shorts, and 'safari' hat.

There was dancing...

and cupcakes...

and awards.

Mr. Congeniality, huh?

Why am I not the least bit surprised?

We've always known Noah was pretty popular among the 3-5 year age bracket. His teachers have told us about the complex seating arrangement they had to put into play to make sure everyone who wanted to sit next to Noah had the opportunity to do so.

(Apparently it's really cut back on the fighting and tears. Poor kids, don't they realize there's enough of Noah to go around?)

Noah and his teachers

Noah has really enjoyed these past 2 years of preschool. Almost every night before bed he's asked if he has preschool the next day. He constantly talks about the songs they sing, the games they play, and the art projects he's working on. He's even made his older brother wish HE was back in preschool.

Let's hope his enthusiasm for school continues when he starts kindergarten later this year...

Thanks so much, Miss Vickie and Miss Liz! We appreciate all you do!

Zachary's baptism

Nate and Zachary

A picture of 'the Kennedy boys' at the baptism, Riley, Marcus, Jack, Robby, Nate, Zachary, and Noah.

(I think Nate's grandmother's camera was stuck on the panoramic setting or something because most of the pictures had strange proportions and a lot of the heads got cut off.)

This is Nate's brother Robby who's just back from his mission. He gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.

The Kennedy girls, McKenzie, Emily, Anna, me, Sarah, and Karla.

McKenzie and Marcus. McKenzie did an awesome job filling in last minute for our pianist (Thanks so much, McKenzie!) and Marcus gave the closing prayer.

Nate's grandparents and the kids. (We're still trying to figure out why Noah looks like he lost his best friend in all the photos...)

Everything went really well, and it was great to have so many people here to help out. Thanks to everyone!

Zachary's getting baptized

Zachary's baptism is coming up, and as usual, I'm running behind schedule. I took a few photos at the church to try to use on an invitation:

I think he looked a little too posed and cheesy here.

My personal favorite.

Noah wanted to get in on the action.

Zachary striking a pose of his choice.

Noah and Zachary (on another boulder, of course!)

And, while we were waiting for Zachary's little interview with the Bishop, he snuck the camera out of my bag and shot this lovely photo of himself:

After several hours, and two desperate phone calls to my multi-talented friend Kayla for digi-scrapping help, this is the invitation:

It's great to be 8!

Zachary is now 8 years old! Woo hoo!

Now, brace yourself, because you are about to be amazed.

Zachary requested this super awesome volcano cake. And in my haste to get this thing slapped together, the outcome suffered a little:

I think Po from Kung Fu Panda expressed it best when he said,
"There is no charge for awesomeness, or attractiveness."

Noah didn't want anything to do with it. And can you blame him?

To celebrate the big day we took Zachary and Noah to the AZ Science Center on Saturday, then stopped at Claim Jumper on the way home. It was all part of the plan of getting out of holding a big crazy birthday party. And it worked!

Now, is it just our boys, or do all kids have to jump on boulders whenever they see them and strike a pose?

Zachary showing off his guns.

Noah showing off some "guns" of his own.

Zach took this picture for us. He's quite the budding photographer, huh?

Happy Birthday, Zachary!
We love you!
